25 families homeless from fire

By June 8, 2012

India (MNN) — A fire recently ravaged the homes of 25 families in Andhra Pradesh, southern India.

So far, there is no word on how the fire was started.

The 102 family members who were victims of the fire are now homeless and living on the streets or under trees.

The weather in India is very harsh this time of year, with temperatures soaring to around 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

These families currently are in desperate need of the basics: food, water, and shelter. Some of the family members have already fallen ill living in these harsh conditions.

BUILD, an indigenous agency of India Partners, is on the ground in Andhra Pradesh bringing aid to the victimized families.
India Partners exists to minister compassionate aid grounded in the love and message of Christ alongside their partner organizations.

While they’re able to meet some physical needs, BUILD is asking for financial assistance to give family members all the necessary aid.

Just $2.30 gives one family food and water for a day. $16 gives food and water to a family for a whole week. Providing a family with clothing, a blanket for shelter, a pail, and other basic necessities takes $35. To give one of these families full aid for a month costs $100.

You can give these families aid by clicking here and selecting “Fire Relief.”

Please be praying for BUILD’s ministry. Pray for the families’ physical well-being, and ultimately salvation in Christ.
