A crime spree in Zambia causes concern for missionaries.

Zambia (MNN)–Grace Ministries International got news last week that heightened security concerns for their teams in Zambia.

It started a few months ago when the Roths were robbed in Zambia. More recently, GMI headquarters received details from Dan Moyer who is also serving in Zambia with the Roths.

He asks for prayer for safety. “It seems that the gang is again at work, and May 2nd, they killed a night watchman at a store near our building in town and robbed the store completely of all the goods.”

Moyer adds, “They then went over near our church and Bible school and robbed the catholic priests of all they had.” He’s asking prayer for their teams that they can continue life without living in fear and trusting that the Lord will continue to watch over them at all times.

Please pray for the safety and emotional well-being of GMI missionaries serving in Zambia — Jeff and Sally Roth, Carl and Joanne Moyer, Dan and Tina Moyer, and Kennedy and Sofia Simtowe.

Zambia has become a base of operations to reach out into the various countries around the southern region. The vision of the Grace Church in Zambia is to start an outreach in a new country every year.

As of September 2002, there are graduates of the Zambia Grace Bible Institute in Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. There have been 17 preaching points and four churches established in Zambia, three preaching points in Zimbabwe, and two preaching points and one church in Malawi.
