A partnership to protect the pre-born

By May 13, 2025

Uganda (MNN) LIFE International is announcing a new partnership with the Anglican church in Uganda, which began as a friendship between LIFE International and Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba. With 13 million members and 39 dioceses, the Church of Uganda is a significant voice in the country’s religious dialogue. LIFE International’s Chris Rookus says Archbishop Kaziimba wants his nation to share the Father’s heart for life.

“He wants to bring the Journey of a Lifegiver Training, which is our core training, into all parts of Uganda,” he says.

The Journey of a Lifegiver Training is LIFE International’s foundational program. It instructs participants in a biblical theology of life from conception to natural death, focusing on the triune God’s cherishing of life at every stage. Under the new partnership, the plan is to implement these trainings in Uganda over the next three years.

“We basically help equip people through this training to understand how to do ministry with people in their context,” Rookus says.

Kaziimba wants to see abortion ended in Uganda. The church of Uganda has 13 to 15 million people attending services on any given week.

“So their depth of reach is vast. It’s a massive amount of people they have connections with,” Rookus says.

While LIFE International has worked in Uganda for several years, the scope of this partnership is broader than any previous one.

“We’re working to bring this message upriver, to where that will then be carried downriver into different areas of ministry,” Rookus says.

Working in more than 160 countries, LIFE International’s vision to value life at every stage is a cross-cultural effort.

“Wherever we go, the message is the same and the need is the same because life is devalued everywhere we go.”

Please pray for the ministry of LIFE International. Pray that the people of God all around the world will see the Father’s heart for life and share it with their communities.

“The attack on the pre-born in particular is massive, and it’s the work of the enemy,” Rookus says. “So pray with us that the Father would reach people with His message for life.”
