A promising partnership sees missions expansion in Africa.

Africa (MNN)–Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Southern Baptist International Missions Board are expanding their partnership in Africa.

SIL, a Wycliffe partner is actually working with the IMB in the project. SIL’s staff shares a Christian commitment to service, academic excellence, and professional engagement through literacy, linguistics, translation, and other academic disciplines.

SIL focuses on unwritten languages. People who speak these languages often live in geographic, social, and economic isolation.

IMB provided the means for a training workshop in Tanzania. Trainees from both organizations are now part of an experimental, joint field-training course in eastern Africa.

Pray for the joint staff leading the course, and for participants who are learning to adapt to many different conditions.

The challenges ahead also require thinking with vision. SIL and IMB leaders are taking this under consideration and looking to implement other ways of working
together.
