Alabama church evangelism team grows from 7 to 60

By March 7, 2022

USA (MNN) — Sam Neugent saw the evangelism team in his Alabama church grow from seven people to 60. How? Through the Made to Multiply Initiative, an e3 Partners program that aims to equip one million North American Christians to share the Gospel.

How it happened

Neugent says he was invited to host one of the training conferences at his church. The original seven attended the conference as well. “When the conference was over, and everybody went home, we were left with the names of people who had actually accepted Christ.”

He gathered up his team and asked them a question. “So what do you want to do? My team said we need to go back and do discipleship. So we made a commitment, we would start going out weekly on Tuesdays.”

Each week, the team saw a great response to the Gospel. Eventually, the church leadership took notice and the staff got involved. The team grew to about 60 people.

Sam’s story

Neugent served as the music and worship leader in his church for 40 years. But he heard God calling him to focus on missions. His church initially resisted. One day he said, “I quit.” He still attends the church, but now works with e3 Partners.

Today, he works with e3 Partners as the Church Planting Mobilizer and Senior Trip Leader for Honduras.

Get involved

Want to see something like this happen at your church? Consider attending one of the Made to Multiply training conferences. Neugent says, “There’s a bunch of going on everywhere. There are a few churches that are doing this almost weekly. Go to the Made to Multiply website and look at it. I’ve got three coming up in March.”

Pray the Made to Multiply Initiative would introduce many people to the love of Jesus.
