Sri Lanka (MNN)–The Back to the Bible ministry in Sri Lanka is meeting key needs.

Beginning in 1955, BTTB has been a presence both on the airwaves via radio, and in the pew, via literature. The voice of reason to isolated believers, the hope of Christ is keenly felt, especially today.

Amidst the renewed war between the Tamil Tigers and the government, one listener shares appreciation for the steadfast dedication of the team to ministry. “I wish to thank God for the programmes broadcast each Saturday morning. The messages are very useful. These programmes have been helpful in building up the spiritual lives of those living in the Jaffna peninsula in the midst of war and various other problems. May the Lord bless the producer, and brothers and sisters involved in this ministry.”

Equally important are the correspondence courses they offer. While the area is coping with the threat of anti-conversion legislation, there are still believers who are growing in their faith via the written courses.

Around 180 Back to the Bible correspondence course students recently attended a special get-together in Sri Lanka.

In spite of poor public transportation in the hill country where it was held, many traveled three or four hours to be present.

The program consisted of worship, Bible teaching, Bible quiz games and Gospel messages. As a result, 20 students accepted Jesus as Savior and 36 rededicated their lives to the Lord. Pray for the new believers’ discipleship needs.
