International (MNN)–Since its launch in 1998, Walk Through The Bible’s World Teach workers have recruited and trained and trained over 25,000 teachers in more than 63 nations-the largest army of the Bible teachers ever assembled.

These instructors have presented biblically sound training to over 2,700,000 attendees and witnessed 1,200,000 life-change decisions and salvations.

The program goals may seem lofty, however, World Teach president, Phil Tuttle says their goal of training one teacher for every 50,000 in every country of the world is attainable.

In fact, they’ve seen encouraging growth despite economic troubles. “Our giving was off significantly last year, almost 40-percent, and yet, the ministry results around the world doubled. So, we just really believe that what we’re doing is close to God’s heart, and it continues to have his blessing.”

Tuttle explains with a world population of six billion, they need to ready 120,000 teachers. As for the challenges in countries hostile to the Gospel, “Obviously, there’s a lot of religious persecution in some places around the world. In India, and some other areas, parts of the Middle East, to be certain. The people who are teaching our materials are taking a great risk.”
