Boxes of love reaches the needy in the USA

USA (MNN) — While millions of Americans celebrated their Thanksgiving Holiday with the traditional Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry’s and pumpkin pie, thousands of poor people went without.

However, Here’s Life Inner City, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, tried to make a difference for a few families. Here’s Life distributed more than 24,000 Boxes of Love to families all over the country. These boxes contained enough food for a family of six. They included a turkey or ham, vegetables, potatoes, juice, yams, apple or cranberry sauce, bread, fruit, dessert and more.

But the most important things included were God’s word for the adults and Christian children’s literature for the kids. These Boxes of Love were distributed by local inner city churches, giving them a chance to share Christ.

This time of year is a busy time for Here’s Life Inner City. Funding is needed to help them meet the needs of the homeless with their Homeless Care Kits as the weather gets colder.
