USA (MNN) — Christian History Institute in association with International Films and The Voice of the Martyrs, USA announce the release of their new children’s adventure series, “The Torchlighters.”

This new series was developed to expose children to the inspirational lives of heroic men and woman from Christian history. The series tells the story of Christian heroes who have risked their lives to bring the message of Jesus Christ to an antagonistic world.

CHI President Ken Curtis says, “Children will be introduced to some of the greatest lives ever lived — people who made a difference in the world. Lives that found their meaning and motivation in Christ. Our goal is to offer young people true stories that will help shape the vision for their own lives.”

Since many missionaries today felt called by God to go to the mission field before their 14th birthday, this series could be an encouragement to children today who fit that description.

The first episode of “The Torchlighters” is available this month and covers the life story of missionary martyr Jim Elliott who was killed in Ecuador as he ministered to the Auca Indians. The second release will be the life story of William Tyndale. That is currently in production and will be available later this year.
