Christians continue to be targets of violence and threats.

Sri Lanka (MNN) — Christians in Sri Lanka continue to be targets of threats and attacks, reports Voice of the Martyrs Canada.

Early in November, unidentified attackers rampaged through a church, breaking down the doors, and then continued into the pastor’s home in Matugama, Sri Lanka. In front of the two young children, the men slaaped the pastor’s wife and cut off her hair with a sword, and then set fire to some furniture.

Since that time, groups of Buddhists have staged demonstrations, held protests, and delivered petitions against area churches, stating the “patience and tolerance” of the Buddhists was reaching and end. They threatened serious violence unless action was taken against “Christian fundamentalists.”

Pray for strength, protection and encouragement for the Christians in this time.
