Conference could be the spark needed to transform Native Americans for Christ

USA (MNN) — Generally speaking in missions, "Native Americans have just been off our radar. Their young people have languished in a terrible epidemic of hopelessness that includes a suicide rate that is quadrupled that of the rest of the kids in America," said evangelist Ron Hutchcraft.

An integral part of Hutchcraft Ministries is On Eagles Wings, an outreach focusing on the Native American population across the U.S. and Canada.

Every summer, On Eagles Wings holds the Warrior Leadership Summit, in which hundreds of youth gather to be empowered to go out and share the hope of Christ with the rest of their generation.

The summit has been taking place for about a decade, and Hutchcraft said it has doubled, tripled, and almost quadrupled in attendance to grow into what it is today.

"It's like a beating heart, beating life blood back into the body of Christ throughout Native America," Hutchcraft said about the summit.

This year's summit will be held June 28 to July 3 and will be the largest one yet–with youth representing around 70 nations attending. Hutchcraft also expects it to have the greatest impact of all previous summits and of all Native American ministry for hundreds of years. "If they go back and begin to fight for their generation, there may finally be a breakthrough in Indian missions that has eluded the people for 500 years," he said.

For youth to get to the conference, they have to overcome various obstacles, including finances, addictions and lies Satan feeds them.

For that reason, Hutchcraft asks that you join him in prayer: "Pray for Warrior Leadership Summit that God will overcome the enemy's attempts to sabotage the kids who want to come. Pray that when they come,  their lives will be changed forever and they will go back as ambassadors of Christ's hope to the places in this country where hope is most desperately needed."

If you would like additional guidelines on how to pray, On Eagles Wings has created a prayer kit specifically for the summit. Click here to get your kit.
