International (MNN)–According to a recent World Health Organization report, more than 2.6 billion people do not have basic sanitation and more than 1 billion still use unsafe sources of drinking water.

Living Water International continues to work with others in providing clean, safe water and helping with development based mission work.

LWI’s Jonathon Wiles says development-based mission is helping to provide well-being and self-sufficiency for these people groups. There are groups that focus on health, water, sanitation, agriculture, education, literacy and a number of other things.

‘Compassion 2005’ is being planned for May 21-27, 2005 in Austria, in which groups like this will gather and share ideas.

Wiles says the goal of this event is to bring together people from all over the world who are involved in the mission of helping people and sharing the Gospel message.

They will be able to brainstorm on strategy and receive consultation as well as formulate further partnerships.
