EFCA to open ministry centers throughout the USA

USA (MNN) — The humanitarian arm of the Evangelical Free Church of America’s, Compassion Ministries, is hoping to launch what they’re calling international ministry centers.

Currently Compassion Ministries is headquartered in Rockford, Illinois. However, EFCA’s Jim Snyder doesn’t want to settle for that. “It would be far more beneficial to us to allow Evangelical Free Churches and other individuals who like to volunteer here, the same opportunity in other locations around the United States.”

Snyder says there’s the potential to have international ministries centers on the East and West coasts and in the Rocky Mountain region.

Having an effective humanitarian component to EFCA’s work is evangelistically very strategic, says Snyder. “The centers facilitate the ministry of our missionary personnel around the world. Particularly in creative access countries or in locations where they’re more resistant to the Gospel, ministries of compassion make a tremendous inroad for us to be able to get involved in these places.”

Snyder is asking people to pray that these centers become more than just an idea. He’s hoping to open them within the next year.
