Evangelist launches outreach in Angola and South Africa

By January 24, 2008

Angola (MNN) — Evangelist Sammy Tippit and his team is in South Africa and Angola this week.

Tippit will preach in the gold and silver mines in Welkom on Friday and Saturday. Later, he'll be holding training for evangelists throughout the area. This endeavor is something that is new to STM.

"I am really excited about preaching to the miners," said Tippit. "People from all over the southern part of Africa will be among these miners, and we will be able to share the Gospel with them."

The team then heads to Angola to hold major evangelistic events and a discipleship-training seminar. Dave Tippit, director of Eternal Concepts, is one of the speakers. He will first conduct the Eternal Concepts discipleship-training seminar in the city of Benguela.

It's a major university city in Angola, and young people from every province will be in attendance at the discipleship training school. This will be the first of several EC training schools to be held overseas throughout the year.

In early February, they'll begin five major evangelistic events, as well as leadership training. Dave Tippit will continue his outreach in Benguela, while Wayne Jenkins, director of the Evangelism for the Louisiana Baptist Convention and his wife, Martha, will be in the city of Luena.

Gary Maroney, pastor of First Baptist Church of Cameron Texas and his wife, Darlene, will minister in Uige, and Marshall Wolcott, a lay evangelist in Oregon and Billy and Darleen Honc, staff members at Alamo City Christian Fellowship church in San Antonio, Texas, will speak in the city of Cabinda.

Pray that many will come to know Jesus Christ.
