Fighting forces missionaries out of Lebanon

Lebanon (MNN) — The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has forced missionaries out of Lebanon.

Operation Mobilization has work in both Lebanon and Israel. According to OM’s Lane Powell, “Most of the team in Lebanon left (Monday) and the few who are staying will make day-by-day decisions about whether to leave.”

Their staff weren’t the only ones affected by the violence. “There was a short-term outreach with people from various countries on a mission trip, but they evacuated over the weekend,” says Powell.

Powell says their Lebanon ministry is essentially not happening since nearly everyone left.

She adds, “In Israel, the workers are simply monitoring it hour by hour.”

Pray that the workers will be able to return to Lebanon soon. In the meantime, pray that God will encourage national believers to do the work.
