First ever alliance will relevently help suffering believers.

By March 15, 2007

International (MNN) — The first ever alliance to help the persecuted church was created March 8 at a gathering in Amsterdam.

The Religious Liberty Partnership includes 15 organizations.   Open Doors USA , Voice of
the Martyrs
, and World Evangelical Alliance are a few of those involved.

Each year an active work group will be formed to meet the needs of believers who are suffering around the world.  Johan Candelin, member of the 2007 working group and World Evangelical Alliance, said, "This is historic news as it is the first time these organizations have come together to join hands. The real winners are our suffering brothers and sisters. This development also sends a positive signal to the global church about the spirit of unity present in the Amsterdam meeting."

The network will combine efforts, help keep people informed about the needs of the persecuted church, and pray together.  This group of organizations believes this alliance will be able to help the persecuted church more than ever before.

The next meeting will be in March 2008 and more members can join.  Pray for this new team who will be helping our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering.
