Heart4Iran launches Heart4Afghanistan to meet neglected needs

By July 22, 2022

Afghanistan (MNN) — People across Afghanistan face disaster, economic collapse, and starvation. A new initiative supports Christians in Afghanistan while the world turns away.

“Since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, a lot less news coverage is being offered to Afghanistan, yet the condition of the country has become worse,” Heart4Iran’s Mike Ansari says.

“We need to inform people around the world of the Afghan Christian plight. These Afghan Christians are under severe persecution.”

Heart4Iran is launching a new initiative called Heart4Afghanistan this month with two goals. First, the ministry wants to introduce Afghans to the hope of Christ. “When Taliban took over the country, our call center was flooded with calls from Afghans,” Ansari says.

“Almost every one of these callers was asking about Jesus.”

Second, the group wants to introduce people like you and me to Afghan Christians. “Afghan Christians are mostly composed of converts from Islam to Christianity. We call these people Muslim background believers or MBBS,” Ansari says.

“The Christian converts are all underground trying to survive the wrath of Taliban. In 2022, Open Doors listed Afghanistan as the most dangerous country to be a follower of Jesus.”

Connect with Heart4Afghanistan to be a voice for the voiceless.

“We need to come together and pray for Afghans and Afghanistan,” Ansari says.

“Also, we need to stand next to organizations and ministries bringing hope [and] the Gospel to the fine people of Afghanistan.”
