Hope remains despite bleak IMF forecast

The International Monetary Fund released its five-year forecast earlier this month. IMF predicts that the global economy will only grow three percent annually for the next five years. It’s the weakest outlook since 1990.

That’s probably not the news you want to hear if you’re approaching retirement. Ron Hutchcraft of Ron Hutchcraft Ministries says, “I think there is a spoken or unspoken question: ‘Where is my security?’”

Economics aside, “we’ve had so many disruptors like this,” he continues.

“There’s nuclear danger, shootings in all kinds of settings, weird weather, prices soaring to historic levels, [and] a pandemic that changed our lives for years to come.”

Find stormproof security when the storms of life won’t stop.

Only one thing remains constant amid life’s turmoil. “God is saying, ‘I’ve got this, and I’ve got you.’ Things are flying beyond our control. Never beyond His,” Hutchcraft says, referring to Psalm 11.

“Everything I’m afraid of, Jesus is Lord of. That is peace in the midst of the storm.”

Resources from Ron Hutchcraft Ministries will help you grow closer to Jesus. You might also reconsider where you invest your time, talents, and treasures.

“My stuff is invested in things that will last forever instead of things that might be gone tomorrow. For example, the souls of people who will spend eternity in one of two places: heaven or hell,” Hutchcraft says.

“That (destination) depends on whether or not they ever have a chance to hear what Jesus did when He died for them, and that depends on the Christian close to them.”
