Hurricane Isaac relief gearing up

By September 4, 2012

USA (MNN) — Damage assessment continues in the U.S. Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. Kevin Watterson with EFCA TouchGlobal says the Braithwaite area was probably the hardest hit area. But there were other areas hit as well.

"Over east of us, in Slidell, there was major flooding in those areas where we repaired homes after Katrina's flooding, and I'm sure we'll be working on some of those same homes that we worked on [previously]."

TouchGlobal already has volunteer teams on the way. Watterson says this helps the bigger picture — sharing Christ. "As a result of Katrina, we've had about five church plants that we were involved with. Some of these areas that we've targeted were hit again, but then there are other areas that we really didn't have on our radar screen that were hit this time. We see this as an opportunity to establish some new churches."

TouchGlobal needs volunteers, as well as Home Depot and Lowes gift cards to help those in need.
