India’s young population informs Gospel missions work

By April 13, 2021

India (MNN) – Did you know India has one of the youngest populations in the world? It’s true! Nearly half of all Indians are less than 25-years-old.

If we want to see the Gospel spread in India, it’s going to be crucial to reach the next generation.

Mission India and their 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs are actively sharing Jesus with kids in India every summer. As these kids learn about Jesus, several give their lives to Him each year and even go on to share the Gospel with their families.

To reach even more kids in India for Christ, Mission India is running their Open Doors Matching Challenge!

Their goal is to raise $300,000 between March 1 and April 30 for their 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs. And through a matching donor, every dollar given is automatically doubled.

Erik* with Mission India says, “We’re calling it the Open Doors Matching Challenge because if you remember, last year we did a relief campaign where we provided Relief Kits for $40, which fed a family of four for four weeks. And through relief, we’re able to open all of these new doors to new areas all over India that we never had access to before. So our focus is really walking through these now open doors that God has opened for us!”

During Mission India’s Open Doors Matching Challenge, just $1 sends two kids in India to a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club where they can learn about Jesus – maybe for the first time.

“When you think about really changing and reaching the younger generation, and as they grow up knowing Jesus and accepting Him as their Lord and Savior, [there is a] ripple effect they can have within communities.”

Erik says, “As a father of a four-year-old daughter, it’s pretty moving to think about that, where this kid who is attending this Bible Club can go home and be this life change for not only themselves but their entire family and, in some cases, communities.”

At the start of April, Mission India was already just over halfway to their goal of $300,000. And this is the last month to give!

Erik says whether or not you’re able to give, Mission India also asks for your prayers.

“We believe that prayer is the first work of missions. We ask that people join in every single day in praying for the nation of India. And during this time of the match, we ask that you pray specifically for these children that will be impacted this summer that will attend a Children’s Bible Club.”
