Iran (MNN) – A young Christian woman has reportedly been arrested in Iran amid a growing crackdown during the country’s ongoing war.
For SAT-7, the case hits especially close to home.
The ministry received word on Wednesday that a 30-year-old Iranian woman named Ghazaleh had been detained by authorities.
John Cerniglia, President of SAT-7 USA, says, “She has a history of posting pro-Christian content on Instagram, and she’s been arrested because of that.

“We’re getting this information from an employee of ours who works for our Iranian channel because this employee is related to this young, 30-year-old woman.”
SAT-7 is a Christian satellite television ministry broadcasting across the Middle East and North Africa. Its Farsi-language SAT-7 PARS channel shares Gospel programming in Iran.
Iran has arrested more than 4,000 people and executed at least 21 since the war began, according to the United Nations.
Iran also ranks among the world’s worst persecutors of Christians, placing in the top 10 on Open Doors’ 2026 World Watch List. Christians make up less than 1% of Iran’s population.
Cerniglia says cases like Ghazaleh’s show the very real dangers Iranian Christians are facing, especially now. And an urgent call for the global Body of Christ to respond.
“This is just a glimpse and probably a small portion of the atrocities in that country. We can’t do much here in the US, but we absolutely can fall on our knees at the foot of the cross and cry out to God, the Prince of Peace, to bring an end to all this.”

Even under mounting pressure, church leaders say Iranian believers continue demonstrating remarkable faith.
“We heard from some church leaders in Iran – remember, the Church in Iran is completely underground – but they talk about Christians in Iran showing great spiritual maturity,” says Cerniglia.
“Even with bombs falling and people being arrested, they continue to meet in homes. They continue to focus on prayer and worship. They continue to help their Muslim neighbors in the midst of all of this. That is a beautiful picture of what the Church looks like when the Church is following Jesus.”
