Karnataka woman attacked for her faith

By July 15, 2010

India (MNN) — Last week, a Christian woman named Amodini was
brutally beaten for sharing her faith in Karnataka state, India.

The 40-year-old, who is part of a congregation led by a
Gospel for Asia-supported missionary, was at home when 15 men came to her door.
Gospel for Asia said they accused her of forcing people to convert to
Christianity.

At that point, they grabbed her and began beating her. Witnesses
said they attacked her with knives, calling it a horrific scene.

Following the attack, Amodini was hospitalized, listed in
critical condition.

Unlike instances in the past when Christians have been
attacked in India, the police immediately sprang into action, arresting 14 of
the men so far.

Thank God for protecting this woman's life and for the quick
arrests. Pray for God to heal Amodini quickly and for her faith to remain
strong. Pray this attack will not silence Christians in her area.
