KidGames a hit in Russia

Russia (MNN) — Sports is the draw for a kids' outreach in Russia, but in the end, the children discover God's love.

Just seven weeks ago, KidsGames sponsored by Russian Ministries visited Obninsk, Russia.  KidGames is a multi-day, multi-group, sport-focused, value-based, global initiative for children  between ages 6-14 years. It provides a means for all sorts of groups to work together on an ongoing basis, serving children who learn and compete together.

Opening day saw 150 adults, teenagers, and children fill a public school gym for the events. Forty enthusiastic school children participated in a four-day competition that included soccer, basketball, tug-of-war and other games. Along with competitive games, the children gathered with young Christian leaders from local churches to discover truths from God's Word.

Yuriy Gromyko, project coordinator in Kaluga, explains that the "event united different churches and denominations in our city for one purpose–to reach out to the community of children and teenagers."

Another KidsGames is scheduled for Moscow. The ministry is helping unite churches, while equipping and motivating leaders for ministry.  Pray as the outreach continues.
