Matching gift offer for summer ministry to Native youth

By June 22, 2009

United States (MNN) — The Ron Hutchcraft Ministries Summer of
Hope is gearing up to begin in three weeks, but it only has about 40 percent of the
support needed. Generous donors have
offered two matching gifts to meet the need.

That means every gift to Summer of Hope 2009 will be
doubled, up to $100,000. There a catch,
though: RHM will only receive the gift if it matches the full $100,000.

Summer of Hope features a week-long Warrior Leadership
Summit Conference for Native American youth, followed by the ministry of the On
Eagles Wings evangelism team. This team
of Native youth will share the Gospel on eight different reservations in the
Southwestern U.S.

Just in the last three years, over 2,500 Native young people
have believed the Gospel through the ministry of the On Eagles' Wings team.

The need for the Gospel among Native youth is enormous. After 500 years of missionary efforts to this group of
indigenous peoples of North America, only 5 percent follow Christ. The suicide rate among Native youth is four
times the rate among the rest of America's youth.
