International (MNN)–The use of parallel New Testaments have proven a useful tool in Bible study around the world.
The World Bible Translation Center says ministry leaders have found that WBTC’s Easy-to-Read texts with the corresponding English translation beside the target language are easy to introduce to young people in other countries.
Many outreaches use teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to reach their target groups, and the increased number of short-term mission groups carrying the Scriptures into non-English speaking nations. That means the need for these versions should only increase.
So far, the Center has parallel New Testaments in Chinese and Russian. They hope to produce them in Spanish, Romanian, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean soon.
