New leader continues mission in Asia

By October 5, 2007

International (MNN) — Asian Access has named Bruce Johnson
as their interim fourth president. He'll
be overseeing the growth of their leader development model across the twenty
countries of Asia. Johnson, who joined
the organization in 2004, serves as Vice President for Leadership
Development
.

Of his new role, he says, "I am eager to take on this new role at
this time. The mission and vision of Asian Access have crystallized to the
point that everyone in this organization understands where God is leading us.
We have excellent people in the right places. But we need more resources
to continue moving this ministry forward with momentum across Asia."

Johnson replaced Doug Birdsall who has been Asian Access'
President since 1991. He is also the
Executive Chair of the Lausanne Committee for
World Evangelization
(LCWE), which is what led to his decision to step down.
Birdsall cited the need to focus
exclusively on the Lausanne movement.

Over the past decade, Johnson helped design three leadership
development ministries. He has developed
strategies and programs from the ground up, including serving as interim
president for an international ministry, taking it through a leadership
transition, and redefining its strategic direction.

The goal of Asian Access is to help train new pastoral leaders and
multiply churches with an evangelistic vision. Pray for the team as they endeavor
to be in 20 countries by 2012.
