New merger already being used to reach Muslims

By September 27, 2010

International (MNN) — Back in May, Mission Network News reported on the merging of two ministries: Pioneers USA and Arab World Ministries. Now, a few months later, the merger is finally nearing completion.

The merge of the two ministries, which should be finalized by September 30, will result in reaching many more Muslims with the Gospel. Both ministries have put a big emphasis on church planting in the past, and Arab World Ministries have succeeded in the Arab world where others have not, giving them a wealth of credibility which will now be added to Pioneers.

The outreach of the merged ministries is so anticipated that they have already begun to work on a project. The new Pioneers' Arab World Region is currently working to support Maarifa, a Web site for Muslim seekers and new believers from a Muslim background. The purpose of Maarifa, an Arabic word which means "knowledge," is to present the Gospel to young Arab Muslims, to disciple new believers where they are, and to encourage them to fellowship with other Muslim-background believers.

A number of resources are available on the site for Muslim seekers to view. Conversations on Maarifa are also tracked so that when the time comes, on-field missionaries and national workers can be alerted to help seekers and new believers.

Right now, friends of what was formerly Arab World Ministries are offering a $180,000 matching gift for the support of the Maarifa site. In other words, any gift you give–be it $50, $100 or $1,000–will be doubled. The matching gift will go on through December, but you may want to give now so you don't forget.

More and more people around the globe are being reached with the Gospel through the internet, which in some nations can be a safer way to learn the Truth. If you would like to give to this important Maarifa ministry, click here.

You can get an idea of what Maarifa is all about at www.maarifa.org. Rightfully so, however, the site is written in Arabic.
