South Africa (MNN) — The youth of Phoenix, South Africa are faced with a history of drug and alcohol addiction in their community. Looming over them is the statistic that 5.4 million people in South Africa are HIV positive therefore, teen pregnancy and promiscuity is deadly.
Knowing this, The Phoenix Fellowship, supported by The Association of Baptists for World Evangelism , has begun two new ministry teams. It is crucial for youth to be reached with the Gospel and integrated into the church at an early age.
The first ministry team, called Youth Leaders Ministry "is committed to reaching and discipling youth" said ABWE's website. Lead by Joshua Ausfahl, they have already
seen much growth in their senior youth program in the last year.
The second team is a Children's Ministry Team that is headed up by a group of committed workers. Leading the team is Bo Varadarajulu. A creative and exciting ministry plan for this year is already in the works. They are organizing several outreach programs for this year as well.
Children's ministry is unique. Some of ABWE's other children's ministries
have included mimes, puppets, music and sports evangelism.
Please pray that the teams will see God bless the activities that they are organizing for the youth of Phoenix. Also, pray for the youth who are lead to Christ and mentored in the life skills that they can not get anywhere else.
