New OM ship gets retro-fit as it prepares for ministry

By February 2, 2005

International (MNN) — Operation Mobilization is one step closer to seeing another ship added to the fleet of ships to help in their outreach around the world.

Yesterday, the Logos Hope began its 12-day voyage from Copenhagen to Montenegro. Copenhagen had been the home of Logos Hope for the past 10 months, as OM completed design and specification details for the ship’s rebuilding work.

In Montenegro, Logos Hope will enter a shipyard where the rebuilding work will begin. While this is an answer to prayer, the project still faces some challenges. Refit costs are coming in higher than anticipated and it will mean additional funding needs. The refit time is also going to be longer than expected, which could cause problems for ministry.

Operation Mobilization is asking people to pray that they’ll see a major boost in funding to be able to make final payments for the rebuilding, to finance the outfitting of the vessel, and launch the ship into active service.
