Next generation involvement needed for ministry to succeed

USA (MNN) — A resource organization says young adults can make an incredible difference in overseas missions work, and it doesn’t require a lot of travel.

Christian Resources International distributes Christian material to those who need it overseas. CRI’s Fred Palmerton wants people to get involved in his organization. “We are an excellent vehicle for anyone who would like to be directly involved with overseas missions without actually traveling abroad.”

CRI receives hundred of letters from Christians overseas requesting free Bibles, Bible commentaries, and other Christian resources. Palmerton says, “Every one of those letters has to be screened and we can send those letters and get those into the hands of people who would like to help process those and send the letters back to us where we will fill those needs.” They also need church coordinators who can organization resource collection and fundraising to ship them overseas.

Palmerton says this program is great for young adults. “They’re not interested in just sending dollars. They want to see what happens and they want to get their hands on ministry and we’re just an excellent vehicle to carry that out.”

Christian resources are a desperate need for seminary students in many areas of the world. Palmerton says they’re making a pastor’s library available, but they need help to get them overseas. “These are eight volume sets of brand new materials that we have arranged through the publishing houses and we can make those available to every graduate for $100 a set.”

These resources can have an incredible impact on evangelism, church planting and other ministries through the local church.
