Packing party with a purpose

By October 3, 2011

USA (MNN) — Have you ever packed with a purpose? I'm not talking about vacation packing. I'm talking about packing with real eternal purpose. How would you like to be a part of a 4000-5000 person effort? Here's your opportunity.

It's a packing party with Global Aid Network (GAiN USA) at their distribution center in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. "We collect food, clothing, shoes, care pack, and vegetable seeds," says GAiN's Duane Zook. It's a place where we need individuals, church groups, Sunday school groups, or home-school groups to come and help and get ready to ship this much-needed aid."

Zook hopes to pack 10 to 15 containers during the five day packing party. He says this is a great way for Christians to have eternal impact half way around the world without having to leave the United States.

Much of the aid is heading to GAiN's Christian partners to distribute in famine-plagued areas of East Africa. Zook says, "After we pack a pallet, we gather around the pallet as volunteers and pray for it and send it off, knowing that it's going to have a physical impact, as well as a spiritual impact."

The packing party begins October 10. Pleas consider joining them. You can find information about the packing. Click here.
