MENA (MNN) – Midnight of June 17 marks the beginning of Ramadan for the Islamic world. During the next month, over a billion Muslims will abstain from food, drink, and worldly pleasure from dawn to sunset.

As Muslims around the world fast, pray, and dedicate themselves to Allah, Operation Mobilization asks you to pray that the truth of God would be revealed. OM recently released a prayer guide, which gives specific requests and areas of need for a different country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for each day of the month.

OM is highly involved in the MENA region. It works in over 110 countries with the goal of “motivating and equipping people to share God’s love with people all over the world. OM seeks to help, plant and strengthen churches, especially in areas of the world where Christ is least known.” It leads mission trips all over the world, including to the Middle East, North Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula.

According to OM’s website, “OM’s role in the Church is to mobilize people to share the knowledge of Jesus and His love with every generation in every nation. OM pioneers and leads initiatives to redeem lives, rebuild communities and restore hope….”

There are many different ways OM is carrying out its mission in the MENA region. OM reported in May about one of its workers in the Middle East who partnered with a local Muslim-born believer to teach a parenting class founded on biblical principles. Another story posted by OM featured a long-term OM missionary couple in Iraq. When ISIS arrived in 2014, many fled their homes. But the couple stayed to serve the internally displaced.

You can help OM’s ministry as well. Pray for OM as it works to save souls for Christ and equip believers for disciple-making. Click here to download the Muslim prayer guide for the month of Ramadan. Click here to find other ways to get involved.
