Renovations begin onboard Logos Hope

By July 25, 2005

Croatia (MNN)–You could call it a ‘work in progress.’

Logos Hope, the newest vessel of Operation Mobilization Ships International, is now undergoing major renovation in the Shipyard Trogir, Croatia.

The redesign of the ship is based on OM’s mission to help introduce visitors to Christ. Electrical, ventilation and sprinkler systems and most of the cabins will be rebuilt.

Interestingly, even during the rebuild, outreach is happening. Crewmembers set up a stand with free literature for the yard workers by the main entrance to Logos Hope.

The literature disappeared so quickly, the team wondered where it was all going. But the literature has been an open door for the yard workers to ask questions about faith, Jesus Christ and a host of other issues.

The team hopes to have a question and answer time for yard workers, to follow up on questions that have come about from the literature.

In the meantime, the timeframe for getting the Logos Hope indicates the scope of re-fitting a former passenger and vehicle ferry.

The work is expected to be completed by mid-2006. O-M is raising funds in order to be able to launch the ship for global outreach in 2007.
