(England)–We begin today’s newscast in the industrial city of Bradford, England, a city that’s experiencing its worst racial violence in over two decades. More than 160 police officers have been injured and around 65 people have been jailed in the three nights of unrest. Colin Lowther works with HCJB World Radio near the violence. ” Over the past seven years there’s been real working together and people really thought we were at that place where we could live and work together. This has sort of messed that up, really. So, we need to be praying for the community leaders because they’ve got to go out and rebuild all that trust again.” Authorities say Asians are responding violently to white supremacist activity there. Lowther is asking for prayer. “Pray for us that we’ll continue to be good witnesses to all faiths and all different races that do live in this very mixed city. And, also for our work because we continue to make programs for overseas and for U-K local radio particularly, trying to spread the Good News of Christ.”
