(Haiti)–Headlining today’s news, missionaries are asking people to pray for Haiti as violence rages on after an apparent coup attempt yesterday. Two police officers were killed and seven people are in custody, but President Jean Bertrand Aristide and his family are safe. For Haiti with Love’s Don DeHart says the violence hasn’t stopped. “Right now, it’s pretty well spread all over the country. Even the small towns and small villages there’s riots and we’re getting those reports from radio. You can pray for us. Pray for our safety. Pray that God will intervene in these people’s lives and help them.” DeHart says he doesn’t feel threatened so he’s continuing with the work. However, funding is desperately needed because…”Tragedy in the United States from September 11th and the recession have reduced our normal contributions and we could use to get it back up so we can close out the year and continue feeding these people and providing medical assistance and spiritual love when we can. We can reach out and get them to listen about God’s love and His spiritual presence in their lives.”
