(Sudan)–Headlining today’s news, the United States House has overwhelmingly approved the Sudan Peace Act and it’s now on its way to the Senate. President of Open Doors USA, Terry Madison says they work in Sudan and he’s pleased with the measure, but… “The challenge, of course, is that this civil war and this persecution of Christians has been going on for a long time. And, I’m not sure any resolution is going to turn off the tap and all of the terrible things that have taken place will stop immediately, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.” Madison says despite the long running civil war and persecution, the church is doing fairly well. “When Christians are persecuted their lives of purity before the Lord and their willingness to die for what the believe is like a magnet. And, even though they know they face the risks of similar acts against them should they convert to Christ, people do. And, in that sense, the church in Sudan is growing.”
