Topping today’s news, Shelter Now International is looking at the future of their ministry in Honduras. Since Hurricane Mitch devastated the area, SNI has been working on a housing project in the area. SNI’s Jeff Johnstone explains what’s at risk if a proposal with the Cooperative Housing Foundation falls through. “There are tens and thousands of families that are without houses there so, we are currently trying to get funding for another phase in our housing project in the Santa Barbara region of Honduras. We just really feel that the Lord would have us there and if this doesn’t happen, then there is a really good likelihood that we may not be able to sustain our operations in Honduras.” Johnstone says if they lose their work in Honduras, there is an even greater loss at stake. “We’ve had some tremendous results both physically, with the construction of houses, but also spiritually. In fact, we had occasion to help lead the governor of Santa Barbara to the Lord.”
