Story number 1 for 27 Dec 2001

By December 27, 2001

(Sudan) — We begin today in Sudan where despite civil war and rumors that the war on terrorism could hit the country, people are coming to Christ. Words of Hope‘s Lee DeYoung says they’ve been broadcasting into Sudan in the languages of Dinka and Nuer through FEBA radio. “We received a letter informing us of a number of people who were listening in a certain area in southern Sudan. And, they said there were a number of them waiting to be baptized, who were converted from listening to the radio programs. The number they quoted was 400.” According to DeYoung, these numbers are believed to be just the tip of the iceberg. “Just hearing this continuing testimony from many different sources who are independent of us and independent of each other, suggests to us, yes that the numbers must be in the hundreds of thousands. Sudan is really a place where there is a tremendous spiritual harvest.”
