(International)–Next, even as the world has been exposed to the horrors of oppression in recent days, there is another group trying to cope with theirs. Open Doors Ministries is trying to help the women in many of the Muslim countries they’re working in. Open Doors’ Jane Huckabee explains why. “Women in the Muslim world are considered to be less than humans. What is even more compounded for Christian women is that Christians are so oppressed. So, if you are a woman, and if you are a Christian in a Muslim world, you really have almost no value at all.” Huckabee says their outreach is a source of encouragement for these women. More than that, they are a voice. “‘Women of the Way’ has chapters in several states now. They are basically advocates for the persecuted church into their communities. They are raising an incredible awareness of persecution within their communities. And, they too, are empowering their communities to do something tangible for the persecuted church.”
