Story number 2 for 22 May 2001

(China)–Meanwhile, Voice of the Martyrs‘ China correspondent says the relentless persecution of the house churches is causing concern. Leaders of these churches across the country are reporting an increase in the government’s overt repression and persecution. According to one observer, quoted by VOM, Chinese police and security services appear to have begun a major crackdown on political and ethnic dissidents as the government prepares for a major leadership change. Please pray for believers in China.
