Story number 2 for 23 Apr 2001

By April 23, 2001

(Turkmenistan)–Meanwhile, Turmenistan’s political police continue their zealous pursuit against religious groups who are outside the framework of the officially-sanctioned Muslim Board. The Keston News Service reports that at least six Protestant Christians in the north have been beaten in the past six months. Sources also report that the raids, detentions and beatings by the police toward evangelistic communities are becoming more frequent. Please pray that the testimony of Christians in this country remains strong.
