(Peru)–Meanwhile, the shooting down of the missionary airplane emphasizes the need to pray for missionary pilots. That’s the word from Jaars’ Arthur Lightbody. “Our missionary pilots operate in difficult situations many times around the world. We don’t know why sometimes God allows these things to happen, in spite of precautions that we’re taking. And, He can intercede and we certainly do urge prayer for our teams around the world.” Jaars speeds Bible translation by providing quality services for Wycliffe Bible Translators. Lightbody says aviation is an essential part of that. “For us it’s a focus on Bible translation with these remote groups, and to bring our translators in we depend on these programs in many areas of the world. We could field, right now, four or five additional pilots and five or six aviation maintenance personnel.”
