(Israel)–Next, while many are condemning Israel’s latest actions, evangelicals in the United States are encouraging friendship. Tim Munger is with Friends of Israel Gospel Ministries. Munger says because there are many Jews in the United States, friendship evangelism can be successful especially now. “With the outbreak of violence and with the support they have seen. They have found that evangelical Christians have become the stalwart source of hope, encouragement and support for the state of Israel. And, so there is an openness to the evangelical community.” Friends of Israel is encouraging churches to do more for the Jewish people. “We encourage them to hold a Thank God of Israel Day, in which they invite Jewish people to come and the whole service is geared toward the Jewish person, from the first song to the final clean up time after the service.” Munger says these have been effective in bridging the gap between Jews and Christians.
