(Indonesia)–Next, evangelical leaders are hoping the new government in Indonesia can end persecution of Christians in the largest Muslim nation of the world. Last year, Muslims calling themselves “jihad warriors” attacked several Christian villages in the Maluku Islands. Unable to escape many were killed or captured and the survivors were forced to convert to Islam. Since January International Christian Concern and Christian Aid Mission have been raising money to rescue 14-hundred of these Christians. The most recent rescue occurred last week, when 26 people were freed.
