(International)–Meanwhile, in the season of summits, there was one recently held that will help put the church on the cusp of exponential growth. Global Advance’s David Shibley says their International Summit included 36 leaders from a contingency of countries closed to the Gospel. He says their purpose: devotion to the Gospel. “Some of these men will even be questioned by their respective governments simply for the fact that they came, though they were granted visas to come. Our congressman from our district had to help us get visas, for more than one pastor who came. So, I imagine that they will face closer scrutiny, several of these men.” Shibley says he was encouraged by the consensus reached by these church leaders. “Our focus was a recommitment to the fulfilling of the Great Commission. And I saw in these men a fresh resolve to plant new churches, particularly among unreached peoples, [and] to see the church in the emerging world become fully indigenous.”
