(USA)–Elsewhere, Chuck Colson’s “Prison Fellowship” ministry continues to grow and impact the lives of prisoners and their families and point them to Christ. Colson says that they are using a successful Bible study partnership with all of their evangelistic events. “So that when people come to Christ in our meetings they enroll in correspondence courses with the Crossroads Bible Studies and they are handling right now thousands upon thousands of inmates.” Another effective program aims at providing Christmas gifts for the children of prison inmates. Colson says that over 600,000 children were reached this past Christmas through “Project Angel Tree”. “That’s very thrilling because these are people who are absolutely left out, forgotten. And these are the most likely next wave of future criminals so getting to them with Angel Tree is not only a wonderful Christian compassion but it’s public interest because you save these kids from a life of crime.” Prison Fellowship volunteers continue to work with chaplains and churches to reach these children for Christ.
