Story number 3 for 11 Sep 2001

By September 11, 2001

(Pakistan)–One of the most highly profiled Pakistani Christians is nearing either a Supreme Court acquittal or the gallows. Compass Direct reports that 34-year old Ayub Masih is the first blasphemy law defendant whose lower court death sentence has not been overturned by a higher court. His lawyer has planned an appeal but no hearing has been scheduled until after the court reconvenes in early October. There have been several reports of Masih being ill-treated while in custody. Please pray for believers facing persecution in Pakistan.
