(USA)–The need for scriptures is great for people all over the world, but especially for the poor. Audio Scripture Ministries of Holland, Michigan is providing scripture in audio form for one very good reason. Audio Scripture’s Executive Director Tom Dudenhofer. “The literacy problem continues to outstrip attempts at teaching people to read. So, we continue to see generation after generation where people simply do not read. And, even where the Bible has been translated into their language, if they can’t read it’s of no value to them.” Dudenhofer says that’s why they’re doing everything they can to help missionaries provide scripture. “Our little niche in the world of missions has really focused on providing equipment for missionaries and mission organizations and national ministries so that they can first of all, record God’s word in audio and then distribute that finished product.” It costs between four and six-thousand dollars to equip a program abroad.
