(Mexico)–It’s no secret that the newest trend in evangelism points to the Latin and South American churches at the forefront of missions. At a recent pastors’ conference in Mexico City, Global Advance’s David Shibley learned that the church there is on the verge of exploding. Shibley shared the vision of a Cuban pastor he met at the meeting. “He has borne some pretty serious persecution, and yet, without any rancor or anger at his condition, he is faithfully preaching the Gospel and looking to the day, which he is confident is very soon, that Cuba will be completely open to the Gospel.” Shibley says this pastor was among 23-hundred others from Latin America attending a group of cooperative training meetings. “There was a very optimistic spirit among the pastors there and a real commitment to extend the Gospel, not only throughout their own nation, but to become a great missions sending force for this new century.”
