Story number 3 for 15 May 2002

(USA)–We continue our series on youth evangelism in the United States. Dare 2 Share Ministries International is doing all it can to make sure Christian young people know who to witness effectively. Dare 2 Share’s Greg Stier (steer) says they plan to hold five more “Last Chance” conferences this year to help in this effort. “We do a strong call to evangelism and sharing your faith. Then, on Saturday we go through a very interactive training, but in between they’re getting what we call sound doctrine. By the time the weekend’s done we take them out and into the streets (where) they actually get to put it all into practice.” The goal is to train one-million young people by 2010. Stier says there’s a crying need for this kind of training. “We lose the vast majority of our Christian teenagers to the world after they graduate from high school. So, there are some kids that are fired up and ready to go. There’s other kids that have yet to be challenged. It’s our mission to challenge those kids so they don’t become a statistic and evacuate the church after they graduate from high school.”
